I had a question from a friend the other day, and I would like to share the answer with all of you.
Her business Facebook page had a long URL, like: facebook.com/pages/The-Page-Name/123456789101122
She wanted to know how to get a simple URL like: facebook.com/SheepBoutique
This makes it easier to communicate your Facebook page address on a business card or sign. For example, on the business card at left, we showed the abbreviated URL for social media accounts. Also, if you own a business, it’s a good idea to ensure that you own this address rather than someone else.
Facebook allows you to customize the web address for your personal profile (Timeline) or Facebook Page by selecting a unique username. The username will appear in the location bar of your browser after “https://www.facebook.com/” when someone visits your profile or Page.
The username is not the same as your Page name or the name you use on Facebook – it’s just a simplified address.
Click here for Facebook’s help on how to get your very own snazzy Facebook URL. It’s easy, but choose carefully, because Facebook limits how many times you may change the name.
It only takes a couple of minutes and the change is instant. Ta-daa!
